The task of making essays can help the development of student’s mastery of their
subject. Firstly, writing is an activity that can earn a lot of understanding of
the subject that students study. Pak-TaoNg (2003, p.132) suggested that “writing
consists of a lot of activities which result in understanding such as an
understanding includes a process of thinking about the topic, notes gathering,
data collection which makes a reflective thought for you at the end”. Secondly,
making essays more effective to gain a lot of information for students than
making a summary. Based on (Scardamalia & Bereiter, 1987; Wiley & Voss,
1999, p.451) demonstrates that making essays can be containing more transformed
and better-interconnected information, also better than the summarization task.
In conclusion, the task of making essays can gain a lot of understanding,
information, and develop the mastery of student’s study subject.
